The 2026 'Business Informatics Young Talent Event for Doctoral Students' is aimed at doctoral candidates in business informatics or related disciplines who are interested in an academic career. The 3-hour event is sponsored by the association 'Die Wirtschaftsinformatik e.V.'.
The goal of the Junior Researcher Event for doctoral candidates is to present interested PhD students with potential pathways into academia and to give them the opportunity to learn more about specific focus areas. By doing so, we aim to support doctoral candidates in their decision for or against an academic career and help them set the right course as early as possible. Furthermore, we seek to foster exchange between postdocs, junior professors, and doctoral candidates.
At the event, postdocs and junior professors will give short presentations about their academic careers and specific research focuses. After the talks, the speakers and participating doctoral candidates will meet at round tables to continue the exchange. The event concludes with the kickoff of the 'Doctoral Student Corner'.
Throughout the conference, we have planned a series of formats within the Doctoral Student Corner, giving doctoral students the opportunity to get to know each other better and network around their research topics. Here, they can find potential research partners based on their topics, domains, theories, or methods, thus expanding their network within the field of business informatics and information systems research.
